My colleage and I were at the concierge asking about where to have lunch. The UPS delivery person overheard l, told us Gil Tacos should be a solid place to have lunch. it's dicey, but the food is really good and authentic. I'm all about that stuff. So we went, and we ate.
I had my holy trinity of tacos. The caveat, tripa and the lengua. All them were phenomenal. Pair it up with the green sauce or the red sauce and we're winning.
I dig these kind of places, no B.S. types. You bark your order at the cashier, they give you a number. Someone at the hole in the all yells out your number. You pick up your food and you smash away. This is the very definition of a good food institution. The tables are clean
I would totally eat here again if given the chance. Would also definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to know about it.
Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day! -

These are the best tacos in Indy. Their al pastor taco is magic! The meat has the savory-sweet-roasty flavor happening and the corn tortillas are tender and fragrant with that earthy corn scent.
They've added a large dining room, so there's no more panic about being able to get a seat at the counter. The staff is friendly and the food come out fast.
They always have a tray of self-serve pickled jalapenos, carrots, and onions; munch on them while waiting for your food, or pile them on your taco! There are always squeeze bottles of red and green salsas available. And, on weekends there is a mango-habanero salsa that is refreshing and blazing hot all at once. -

Wow. Gil Tacos is the truth. Old school, menu board, huge servings on tortas line out the door. They are opening up the other side of the building to have a sit down area just now you got back counter seating.
Dos carnitas y un cabeza taco, along with a cubana torta, wait was 20 min or so, my daughter ate her pork taco I crushed the beef and half the torta. Delicious, the torta was slightly bready but I tore out the top and it was good to go, beef was good not dry or stringy. The torta was actually better the next day imo.
Great place to get your tacos/or torta on they also do burritos, mucho gracias Gil, te veo pronto! -

Kind of disappointed... I was looking forward to a nice steak burrito however... it wasn't! I mean it wasn't horrible but I don't believe I'd return. The steak isn't chunks of steak, it honestly looks like the cook just sliced, diced and turned it into tiny little flakes.

Today's lunch with the hubs was completely unplanned and random but sooo glad it happened because I got to try out his go to taco spot up the street from his job!!! We pulled in, and the Parking lot was packed. Which is a good sign..my husband brought the menu out and I ordered the fish and chicken taco!!! Omg the fish taco. Delicious! Absolutely loved it and I wish I ordered 2 of them.
I wasn't really a fan of the chicken one but it was edible. My husband are the steak burrito and it was loaded. Literally lol! He was very happy with it.
